Day One in Aix-en-Provence, France

This morning began with an inspiring visit to The Leo Marchutz School of Painting & Drawing, where I got a glimpse into the artistic heart of Aix-en-Provence. While touring the town, I was struck by how every corner of Aix feels like a painting come to life. Later, as we listened to the staff talk about how artists see the world, I started noticing everything around me more deeply, the soft light on the buildings, the way shadows danced on the historic streets, even the sound of water trickling from ancient fountains. I had always found New York City boring because of its familiarity, but I appreciate Aix for being able to provide that feeling after only two days. The day ended with a fancy dinner at Le Ramus, where I tasted how the French made beef stew and there's nothing like it!

Travel Tip:

If you're visiting Aix, take time to slow down—observe the light, listen to the streets, and don’t rush through meals. Aix is meant to be savored.
